| DESCRIPTION |
|
Practical on-campus experience in office
work. You will be placed in an office on campus to complete all assigned
hours. You will work under the supervision of the manager or supervisor in
the office. You will turn in your weekly time sheets to me verifying hours
worked. Time sheets will be turned in every Monday in BJ111.
|
| PREREQUISITE |
|
CAOT 1 and some computer experience.
Because this course allows you to utilize the skills you have learned in
CAOT classes, it should not be attempted if you have not taken several
CAOT classes. Office managers will expect you to type documents on the
computer, file, answer phones, and perform general office and clerical
work.
|
| HOURS REQUIRED |
|
You must work 5 hours a week for the
entire semester. You may not acquire extra hours by working ahead.
Hours may not be worked in advance. If you so desire,
you may work
extra hours during any week, however, you are still required to work 5
hours each week (for weeks 2-15) of the semester.
If you become
ill or must miss your assigned hours for any reason, be sure to contact
your supervisor and me to make arrangements to makeup missed hours.
You must work a total of 5 hours each week. If you fail to complete
your five hours of work for a consecutive two-week period, you may be
dropped from the class even if you are working fewer hours during those
weeks.
|
| EVALUATION |
|
The supervisor in your assigned office will
evaluate your performance and give you a mid-term grade. The supervisor
will discuss this grade with you. The supervisor will also give you your
final grade. Any question about your grade should be discussed first with
your supervisor. If there is still a problem—see me. After I receive your
grade from your supervisor, I will submit your final grade to
administration.
