Steven Mark Sachs, Ed.D., is a Professor based in the Business/Computer Applications & Office Technologies department. His full-time teaching assignment is also shared with the department of Psychology and the department of Counseling. Dr. Sachs began teaching for LAVC 1976 and has taught and worked in most of the other colleges in the LACCD. He has taught as well as in other institutions such as California State University, Los Angeles and the University of Judaism.

His doctorate includes a specialty in Community College Education with a subspecialty in student memory, learning, and exam performance. As the Principal of a computer consulting business, he has extensive outside involvements in relevant fields. Formerly, his business focused on assisting doctoral candidates to achieve their degrees; Dr. Sachs has worked on the research design, statistical analysis, and scientific editing of 24 doctoral degrees.

Other areas in which Dr. Sachs involves himself include working part-time as a paid television and short-subject actor, his status as Federal Aviation Administration instrument and advanced ground instructor (and instrument-rated pilot), and professional writing in the sciences as well as in fiction.
