| Brenda Ingram-Cotton
has been a full-time instructor at Los Angeles Valley College since 1996.
Brenda has taught hourly for LAVC since 1986, starting with the Mobile
Office Automation Program. She teaches all phases of Business Education and
Computer Applications. She has presented workshops for the LAVC Staff
Development Program. Brenda earned a M.A. in Business degree from San Jose State University and a B.S. in Education degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She holds California Community College and Secondary teaching credentials. Brenda is also a Microsoft Office User Specialist-Expert Levels in Microsoft Word and Excel. Brenda has taught full time for California State University, Northridge; East Los Angeles College; Santa Clara Unified School District, and for private business colleges. Brenda has also taught part time for Saddleback, Santa Ana, and Pasadena Colleges. Besides teaching, Brenda has held jobs as a subcontracts administrator, real estate salesperson, administrative assistant, and administrative secretary. Brenda is Past President of the California Business Education Association and is the Conference Program Chair for CBEA's Fall 2002 Conference. She is also a past president and the current Strategic Planning Committee Chair of the United States Chapter of the International Society for Business Education. She was president of the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon and president of the Alpha Chapter of Theta Alpha Delta. She has co-authored and presented papers for the Association for Business Communication and for the Office Systems Research Association. While at California State University Northridge, she co-chaired an International Business Conference and developed curriculum for international business communications. For the past ten years, she has been a U.S. voting delegate at the international conferences of the International Society for Business Education/Societe Internationale pour L'enseignement Commerical. Brenda has developed new curriculum for the CAOT Department, including the online course for CAOT 82. She is currently working on other online courses. Brenda is a member of LAVC's Technology Committee and was the Faculty Chair for Standard 4 of LAVC's 2000-2001 Accreditation Committee. She has recently been appointed to the Business Education Statewide Advisory Committee for California. |
